Our Story

Geia sou fíle mou! I’m Melissa, a British Travel Writer that has been based in Athens since 2017.

I have explored Athens and Greece extensively, and my travel writing work has been featured in a number of high-profile publications across the globe – including Forbes Travel Guide, Matador Network, CBS America, The Huffington Post, and The Times of Israel.

One thing I have noticed consistently is how misunderstood and underrated Athens is as a European capital. I hope to correct that and show you the beauty of my city.

Athens, Greece

Most Athens, Greece travel guides and websites repeat the same tired content and attractions. They are predominantly written by people who spend just a few days or weeks in the Greek capital and have barely scratched beneath the surface.

Untold Athens is written from a local perspective. Famous Athenian attractions such as the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora, and the Panathenaic Stadium may well be what cause tourists to flock to Athens. However, these are not the things that those of us living in Athens love about the city.

Untold Athens takes you around offbeat Athenian districts. These little neighbourhoods all have their own distinct personalities and are essentially like little towns and villages in themselves.
